LOTS of protein and carbs, and good fats taken over 5-6 meals per day, usually about every 2-3 hours. Usually it's best to forego carbs after about 6pm.

Lean meats (chicken, turkey, tuna, lean beef), complex carbs, non-fat foods with little processed sugar, lots of veggies, nuts, some starches are good. Lots of water too.

Personally I think the Body For Life program is one of the best out there. They ahve a web-site and you can get a lot of info there. The book isn't too expensive and has instructions for all the exercises.
